Terms of Service
Last updated 24 June 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and DriveRoutes (“we”, “us”) for use of the DriveRoutes mobile apps and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for learner drivers and those supporting them.
2. What DriveRoutes is
DriveRoutes maps practice routes around UK driving-test centres and pairs them with an AI co-pilot that offers guidance in plain English. It is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) or any government body.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google; there are no passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in account secure and for activity under your DriveRoutes account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Subscriptions, trials & billing
DriveRoutes offers a free tier plus two paid subscriptions:
- Learner+ — £4.99/month or £39.99/year.
- Test Ready — £9.99/month or £79.99/year (includes the AI co-pilot).
Paid plans may include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Key billing terms:
- Purchases and renewals are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under your store account — not directly by us.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy that subscription.
- Manage or cancel any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Refunds are handled under the App Store / Google Play policies, and by your statutory rights.
- We may change prices or plans; changes apply to future billing periods and we’ll give notice where required.
Prices shown in the app are confirmed by the store at checkout in your local currency.
5. The AI co-pilot
The AI co-pilot is an optional, consent-based feature that gives study guidance only. It can be wrong or incomplete, and it is not a substitute for a qualified driving instructor or for your own judgement. You remain fully responsible for your driving and for obeying the law and the Highway Code at all times.
6. Safe and lawful use
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or endanger anyone while using the Service;
- copy, scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service or its content except as the law allows;
- interfere with the Service’s security or operation, or access it through unauthorised means;
- misuse the AI features or attempt to extract other users’ data.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its route data, content, software, and branding, is owned by DriveRoutes or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own driving-test practice. Some reference content is derived from public sources under the Open Government Licence and remains subject to that licence.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that practising with it will result in passing any test. Maps, routes, and AI guidance may contain inaccuracies — always rely on the actual road, signs, and the instructions of your instructor or examiner.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, DriveRoutes is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for driving penalties, accidents, or test outcomes, or for loss arising from your failure to drive safely and lawfully. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
11. Suspension & termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or to protect the Service or its users. You can manage any active subscription through your app store as described in section 4.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will revise the “last updated” date and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your home nation.
